Book Review: “I read your book this weekend an d wanted to let you know how well written and inspiring it was. I liked the scriptures you stated, along with the analogies and the comparison with Hobby Lobby and Chic Fil A, which I will start telling people when discussing salsa. It was also interesting to read the struggles you went through for 20 years with the business and how it started to prosper which I am sure will continue with your faith. I love the picture of your family on the back and it looks like you have been very blessed by them as well. Now, you will have more challenges with the loss of your wife and being a single parent of 4 teens which I will start praying for comfort and peace for all of you.”
Book Review for Marcia: “Steve, just wanted to let you know that I am in the last chapter of your book. You talk about God Encounters and I too, have had many over the years. Your book is now being listed as one of mine. Little did I know when I picked your book up at Hy-Vee a few weeks back that it would be such a help to me now. I started reading it right away after I purchased it, but as I have a pretty busy schedule, had not gotten very far when Jim had his stroke. Now, I find myself doing two jobs in the running of our business, as well as hospital visits, etc. But, God is gracious and He is providing. Your book was instrumental though in helping me with ministry. I coordinate a women’s outreach part-time, something I have done for 15 years. Recently the Lord spoke to me about hold a women’s retreat for my small group of women, so I proceeded with planning one for June 15 at the Ursa Retreat House. Several miracles occurred in the planning of this with a surprise check for $500 to help pay for the event, as well as a cancellation that allowed us to have that date, etc. And God has given me what I believe is a great message. When Jim’s stroke happened, I had several people tell me to postpone or cancel the retreat. But, I didn’t feel right in my spirit. As I read your book, I felt a strong conviction that I need, must proceed with the retreat. I am at total peace and am excited to see what God is going to do at this event. So, thank you for being obedient to God’s leading. There are many things that have spoken to me in the book. I’m just about finished with it and delight in the God Encounters and scriptures you have shared. God Bless you and your family.”
